Have you ever looked at a bronze sculpture
and wondered how it was created?
George Reed was unveiled at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan, in September 2017, inspired by the Canadian Football League Hall of Fame running back. The sculptureās public debut was the culmination of six months of intensive planning, labor, and artistry. Here, in these pages, is a fly-on-the-wall look at the complex process of its creation.
Illustrated with over 50 color photographs, the book follows the sculpting process through building a metal armature, carving the clay, and finishing the micro-details, then goes on to explain the mold making process and how the captured image is recreated in timeless bronze.
